Paul - Founder
Turn 1 Detail was founded by Paul Josten, an MBA graduate from King University and East Tennessee native with a lifelong passion for automotive care. What began as a personal obsession for restoring and preserving vehicles has grown into a mission to deliver high-end, coatings with expert craftsmanship, integrity, and convenience to the High Country and surrounding areas.

At Turn 1 Detail, our mission is simple: to deliver professional-grade ceramic coatings, paint protection, and preservation-focused vehicle care that protects your investment and reflects the pride you take in what you drive. From newer luxury vehicles and exotics to garage-kept classics and well-maintained daily drivers, we believe every vehicle deserves expert-level precision, care, and respect.
But this business didn’t begin with a business plan. It started with a faded red (more like pink) 1989 BMW 3 Series and a young guy determined to bring it back to life.
At 21, I bought that car and became obsessed with restoring it properly. I spent countless hours correcting the paint, polishing every trim piece, and learning how to preserve finishes rather than simply cover imperfections. That project sparked a passion that eventually became Turn 1 Detail.
Since then, I’ve owned more than 30 vehicles ranging from Land Cruisers and classic BMWs to Jeep Wranglers, 4Runners, Nissan trucks, and vintage Hondas. Every vehicle taught me something different about paint, materials, preservation, and long-term care.
Today, Turn 1 Detail has evolved into Boone’s only certified Opti-Coat Pro and Opti-Shield installer, specializing in professional ceramic coatings, Liquid Paint Protection Film (Liquid PPF), paint correction, and bespoke mobile detailing. We trained directly at Opti-Coat headquarters in Memphis, TN and use industry-leading tools, coatings, and techniques designed to protect sensitive finishes, never damage them.
This is more than detailing. It’s long-term preservation for vehicles that deserve the best.
